Scope & Content Collection consists of 145 photographs taken at Fresh Air Society camp (today known as Tamarack Camps) in Brighton, Michigan. Most images include Marjorie (Margie) Mitshkun Acker, as well as her fellow counselors. Few photographs depict campers.
Admin/Biographical History Marjorie (Margie) Mitshkun was born on January 12, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan. She worked as a camp counselor for Fresh Air Society at their camp in Brighton. There she met fellow counselor Charles (Chuck) Acker. Margie and Chuck married in December 1942.

Margie was a graduate of Wayne State University and worked as a health education teacher for Detroit Public Schools. She and Chuck had three daughters, Sandra, Betty, and Deborah. Margie passed away in 1966 at the age of 47.
